The general object of the Association is to promote and support interest in local history and allied interests in Northamptonshire. Membership is open to individuals and local history societies. We provide a forum for the encouragement of such societies, and for individual members we aim to provide simple lines of communication and information, and advice and support for their work and activities related to local history in the county.
The Association also organises two meetings annually to enable members to meet each other. It hopes to produce Occasional Publications of interest and use to those throughout the county who are interested in local history. Our Membership Page provides details of membership, together with an Application Form for anybody wishing to join the Association. We are building up a register of the numerous books, pamphlets, videos and audio-tapes on Local History subjects which have been produced in the county in recent years. This is the Resource Register. Enquiries and contributions are both very welcome. The What's On Page gives contact details of NALH's and its member societies, and their programmes of meetings. We try to keep this updated as much as possible. If your organisation would like its events mentioned, please contact the Secretary. We frequently receive requests for help from people researching local subjects. These have been included in our Requests for Help Page. If you can help any of these people, or if you have a request you would like to go on the page, contact the Mrs JS Waterfield, 6 Bakers Lane, Norton, Daventry, Northants, NN11 2EL.
