We can recommend:
- Northampton Central Library, Abington Street, Northampton. They have an extensive collection of material in the Local Studies room upstairs, including books, articles, maps, old newspapers and photographs relating to the history of Northampton, both town and county. Reprints of many maps and views are available for sale.
- Northamptonshire Record Office, Wootton Park, Northampton.
- Northampton Museum - Central Museum & Art Gallery, Guildhall Road, Northampton; and Abington Museum, Abington Park, Northampton.
They have, among other things, a register of all known Shoe Workers. If you are looking for information on someone who you think worked in the shoe trade, contact them, and they can look in their register.
- Northamptonshire Family History Society for Family History queries.
- Western Front Association (Northants Branch) have a copy of "Soldiers Died in the Great War" on CD-ROM, and can help with World War I queries.
