The Association organises two one-day events during the year: the Annual Meeting, held at the end of March / begining of April, comprises the business meeting followed by two or three illustrated presentations of general interest. There is ample opportunity to meet other members and for societies, and indeed individuals, to bring along display material to illustrate their activities. Lunch is usually available at this meeting, which is held close to Northampton. This event is only open to members - individual members of the Association and members belonging to one of the member societies.
In the autumn, usually in October, a Day of Heritage is organised with the help of one of the society members. This provides an excellent opportunity for the host society to show-case its activities and to share its 'local history' with others from across county. The venue for this event moves around the county; the Association endeavours to visit different parts of the county in successive years to ensure a wide variety of topics and interests are covered. The programme for this event is typically three illustrated presentations in the morning with walks and/or visits around the locality in the afternoon. Light refreshments, eg coffee, tea, etc, are available during the day and lunch is included in the cost. Pre-booking is essential as numbers are usually limited.
